Arcsys Software becomes the latest OPF member

The Open Preservation Foundation is pleased to welcome Arcsys Software as its newest affiliate member.

Arcsys Software is a software company specialising in records management and preservation of born-digital assets. The Arcsys suite allows users to create a long-term warehouse of all digital business information in order to perpetuate assets, manage the lifecycle and risks related to the regulatory compliance requirements and increase digital confidence.

Gaël Bertin, Managing Director of Arcsys Software said: “Although Arcsys software is proprietary, it is based on an open architecture to address long-term preservation concerns. Our open strategy allows customers to use Arcsys with external tools and plugins such as JHOVE and other open-source software. By supporting OPF, Arcsys would like to improve open-source tools for the benefit of the digital preservation community.”

Barbara Sierman, chair of the OPF said: “We were delighted to announce Arcsys Software as our newest member at our Annual General Meeting held on 7-8 June in Paris. It was an excellent opportunity for our members to network and discuss collaboration for the future. We are looking forward to working with them.”

Arcsys Software joins Foundation members from archives, libraries, research institutions, universities, and service providers collaborating on shared solutions for effective and efficient digital preservation.
